For Thanksgiving, we were able to visit my parents who are serving as missionaries in Nauvoo, IL. It was about a 4 hour drive from Concordia, a much easier drive than to the 18 hours to Utah when they go home. The Nauvoo temple was simply magnificent.
Jason and I were able to attend the temple the morning before we left. It was a busy day and we had to have an appointment to ensure a spot for us. It is the most beautiful building I have set foot in. I was in awe.
Here's Jason and the kids standing in front of a sunstone from the original Nauvoo temple, which was destroyed by fire and storms after the Saints left Nauvoo.
The magnificent Nauvoo Temple
Here's Kayla in the wagon with Grandma and Grandpa (Elder and Sister Westwood).
They got the day off from their sites and work because they had family in town!
Here we are our first morning in Nauvoo. The weather was great for November.
This is a picture of the kids with grandma Westwood before we went on the wagon ride.

Here is the picture of our branch building that I promised. It's located right off the I-70 freeway in Concordia. We are very lucky to live close to it, as some members of our branch drive 45 minutes to get here. It is about 1/2 the size of a regular church building and is built specifically to be added on to as we grow!
Kayla made this pueblo as part of her class's unit on Native Americans. It's so great to have her tell about what she's learning. She just soaks it up.
Here is Kyle on grandparent's day at preschool. They sang songs and played a game while I was there.

Here is Kayla on grandparent's day at school. Her class performed a Thanksgiving play and reader's theatre. She played a pilgrim.
