Kayla has been very excited for her birthday this year. It's hard when Kyle and Rachel's bithdays come earlier in the year. Finally, it was HER day! Thanks for everyone who called or sent her cards or gifts. It really made her feel special. She's been checking the mailbox everyday since she got her first card! She got almost everything on her wish list: a new dress, polly pockets, an art kit, books, CD player (we substituted an MP3), and a stuffed kitty. Also, $20 to save so she can buy a wristband at the Concordia Streetfair carnival (she's been planning that one since last year!) With the money gifts that have been sent, she'll be able to buy the last thing on her list: a barbie island princess doll. What a lucky girl!
Kayla chose grilled cheese and tomato soup with crackers for lunch, and spagetti for dinner, with a 3 layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with sprinkles! Plans for the day included visiting her good friend Sister Wood, who just came home from the hospital (Kayla has bonded with her cats), and finishing off the evening with a family movie of Barbie Mermaidia! I hope she had a great day
