Street Fair 2009

Last week was Street Fair. On friday, the school's closed early for the kids games on Main Street. Here is Kyle getting ready for the water balloon toss. This was the only event he participated in. My sweet, anti-social boy just sat and watched on the bleachers the rest of the time, until the dunking booth (see below).

This is the first year Rachel was old enough to participate. Here she is with two friends from church. One girl is 5 and the other is six, but they were all in the 4-6 year old group (I know, you'd never guess she was younger than them, huh?).

And her 2nd place peformance of walking with a cup of water on your head!

I chaired a committee for a dunking booth at the street fair, for a PTO fundraiser. Luckily, the hardest part of my job was finding 4 awesome people to be on my committee. 2 ladies who grew up here and knew everybody got a booth and found lots of great people to sit in it. Here is Rachel ready to dunk her preschool teacher!

Mrs. Payne was such a good sport.

Kayla and Kyle both wanted to dunk their p.e. teacher Coach Willis.

They thought it was great and we profited $700 for the PTO! Awesome.

It was a fun week with a couple of good parades. Rachel also was able to buy a wristband for the carnival on Saturday with money she's been saving all year for this purpose. I do believe Kayla and Kyle learned something from this, and they'll be saving for next year!
