Rachel's birthday started on Saturday when we went to get her ears pierced. I've always told her that whenever she wanted to get them done, she could-- and she was ready!
Her big sis was her support system. She did great and said her hurt "just a little bit."
Aunt Jen and the cousins gave her a jewelry box and some new earring to wear in 7 weeks when she can take the original earrings out...
I had the great opportunity to go to Rachel's kindergarten class and take treats and a balloon. It was really fun. Kyle and Kayla have birthdays in the summer, so I've never been to school on a birthday. I had one girl come and complain to me that Rachel said, "Duh." I asked Rachel about it later and she said. "Well Mom, he told me that I was your daughter, and I ALREADY KNEW THAT!" Another child asked me for the recipe for the peanut butter bars that I brought. It made wonder if a kindergarten teacher has ever written a book about all of the things they hear in one day.
The school book fair was on Rachel's birthday, so Aunt Diane let her pick out something as her gift. The pointer stick is probably the favorite gift of any of them. She used it many times in the last few hours of the day.Just like last year, Rachel wanted to plan everything for her birthday. She did a great job with her cake!
I just love this girl.
