Rachel's birthday celebration started on Friday at school. It couldn't have been a better day. As a school they were celebrating Dr. Suess' Birthday, plus her 1st grade class filled their party jar and voted to wear PJ's, and bring a pillow and blanket to school. When I got there to pass out chocolate chip cookies for a treat, this is how I found her doing her work:
Everyone was dressed as a Dr. Suess character OR in their pajamas!
Her teacher gave her this great big pixie stick balloon,
...and to top it all off, it was book fair week at school. Earlier that week, all of the kids had guessed how many flowers were on a lei. Well, on Friday morning, it was announced that Rachel guessed the closest in her class, and got to pick a free book and bookmark! I was so happy for her.
The next morning, on her birthday, we woke her up to breakfast in bed!
Then, she and Jason were off on their special date. They went to the cannery to pick up wheat and other food storage supplies, then off to the surpise...
The Cheesecake Factory!! As a couple, it's our favorite restaurant, and she always asks when it will be her turn to go:
Hello, Oreo Cheesecake!!
As soon as they got home, we all climbed into the van and headed off to the community roller skating day!
It was hard to get picture in that light, but we had a great time!
Oh, I almost forgot the flowers Jason got her on their date: That's another thing she always wants at Costco.
That evening, the cousins joined us for a french bread pizza party
And of course, any party of Rachel's wouldn't be complete without a game of Fruit Basket!
That evening she, cozied into one of her favorite gifts, her bed canopy.
