My favorite son turned 11 last Wednesday.

We had big plans. It was our first day of having Hunter and Haley stay with us while their parents went on youth trek. We were going to go to a nearby town, get Little Ceasar's pizza, and go to a park. The only problem was, it was pouring rain the whole day! So, we got our pizza and went to McDonald's (we ordered soda and ice cream there so we could justify using their tables).

We were trying to decide what to do next, and I thought of rock climbing at the college close by. It was 1 o'clock at this point, and using her iphone, Haley learned that the rock climbing opened at 3:00. So we had 2 hours to kill and it would have taken to long to go home and come back. Enter redbox and the van DVD player!
Kyle is so good at this. All of the climbing spaces were filled except for this one, the most difficult climb they have. The worker teasingly asked Kyle: "Well, why don't you give this one a try?" To his surprise, Kyle said "Sure!" and quickly scaled the wall, reaching the top. He's awesome!
