My daughter, the homecoming queen candidate.

Kayla came home one day and announced that she would be participating in the Homecoming Queen events for this year.  Each club or organization in the school nominates a boy and girl to be candidates, and then the entire school votes from those candidates.  Kayla was nominated by the C-Club, which is the sports club.  You may notice she's wearing a tutu in this picture!  It was spirit week and she and her bestie, Laura (above Kayla to the right) were tutu twins.  :)
The homecoming football game program included this:
At halftime, each candidate walked out together.  She walked with her friend Caleb, who was also nominated by the C-Club.

Keep in mind, Caleb just finished playing 2 quarters of football.

She didn't win the for queen, but she got these pretty flowers, which she posed for after getting home at midnight from the dance (it's not a formal dance here).  She wasn't grumpy in this picture, she's just pretending to be.  That girl.
