Kayla and I take a weekend trip to Kanab

Jess invited Kayla and I to visit her for a weekend, and the way it worked out it was the weekend before Halloween!

We arrived late Friday evening and in true Jess fashion, she had a great snack and cute doggies waiting for us.

The next morning, Jess and I went to a yoga class on the grounds of the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.  It was the most incredible setting I've done yoga (or anything else) in.  

 Jess took a few pictures of me but we ran out of time to get pictures together in that beautiful place because she had made appointments for Kayla and I to get massages!!  It was the first time for each of us and it was AMAZING!  I'm so grateful.  She always takes such good care of me when I visit, but this was such a special treat.

After our massages, we headed to the Best Friends visitor's center that Jess manages.  It was the weekend before Halloween and she was in charge of  taking trick or treaters to the Sanctuary.  We got to go along!

 She drove one of the vans full of kids (and us) and we headed up.

First stop: Horses and Pigs! The animal caregivers dressed up at each station, and sometimes the animals too.

 Kayla still loves her horses!

 As we were heading back to the van, there was an adorable pig out for a walk:

We went to the puppy palace:

 And the cat house (I don't remember the actual name of the place)

 We saw the birds and many other beautiful animals.

 That evening, Jess and Trent took us out to an awesome dinner, then we snuggled in for the evening with JoJo and Jude to watch old family movies.  Trent was so patient and long-suffering putting up with all of us girls!

 The next morning I went to sacrament meeting there in town and then we were all off for a day trip to the Grand Canyon!!

 It was AMAZING!!!

 We found a good spot with an incredible view for a picnic lunch .

 I don't know if it was because it was Halloween weekend, but this character was found hanging out:

 I'm so grateful we got to see this, wow!

 I love these girls so much.

 That evening, we (mostly Kayla) carved a cute pumpkin, watched more home movies, and went to bed.

...and that was the last picture because Jess sent us a message to us the next morning saying "don't come out of your room- Jude has been skunked and then came in a rolled over the floor and furniture."  Eek!  Those super-pet-parents worked to clean like crazy and still had time to take Kayla and I on the horses and pigs tour at the sanctuary before we headed back home.

I always enjoy spending time with Jess and Trent, and what a pleasure to share them with Kayla.  I'm so grateful.
