Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

So, last week Kyle was complaining that Kayla was taking too long in the bathroom. They both have bedrooms downstairs and share a bathroom. In Kayla's defense, she reads in the bathroom. I'll confess. I do too. It's a peaceful, quiet place with few distractions, and in the winter time, we have heaters in our bathrooms!
Anyway, after Kyle's complaint, Jason and I were talking and realized it would probably be good to have both of the girls downstairs to share a bathroom. So we decided to make the change. You can't call us procratinators! Once we make a decision, we tend to just go for it. In this case, we just had to wait for a day when we had to go to the closest town with a Lowe's to get paint.
We moved Rachel downstairs in Kyle's blue room. She likes blue so it works. Right now she says she wants to paint it yellow, but she's so wishy washy, we're going to wait several months and see how she feels. Jason is going to turn her dresser into a desk when the weather's warmer, since she now has a dresser in her closet.

The girls are excited to be together, and they have set themselves bounderies and rules in the bathroom. Here's also a couple of pictures of how Kayla and I rearranged her room a few weeks ago. She's made me almost giddy the last few weeks as I've seen her desire cleanliness! She asked me to help her change around her room, and for the first time EVER, she willinging made piles for trash and giveaway. I always love to deep clean after Christmas...to declutter, and she asked me if she could deep clean the kitchen one day. I had to contain my excitement so as not to scare her:)

Kyle spent two nights in the guest room while we prepped and painted his room. He really wanted red walls but we vetoed that and gave him the next best thing; blue with red accents. He's happy about it and is excited to have his own bathroom. Also, we bought him a dresser, so he thinks that pretty cool.
I love this kind of change, if you haven't quessed. It gives me a good excuse to deep clean and declutter. A fresh beginning to the year!
