Well, to my loyal followers (all three of you :)), sorry I haven't blogged in a while.  There hasn't been too much going on in the last few weeks.  A couple of weeks ago, LDS General Conference Weekend, I got really sick.  Instead of going to the church to watch the broadcast like usual, we moved the couch toward the computer and watched on-line.  I wasn't able to get as much out of it as usual, because I was too sick to take notes, but I heard enough that I am in great anticipation of my Ensign (our church magazine) to come in the mail and devour it with highlighter and pen in hand.  I printed of Conference Bingo cards for the kids and had little prizes they could earn from getting bingo.  It was awesome.  All 3 kids listened better than ever before and were so good.
They were all so sweet to me while I was sick.  During the worst of my fever, Jason was at the Priesthood session at church, and the kids were downstairs watching a movie.  When the ibprofen Jason gave me finally started to lift the fog, I noticed Rachel come in and check on me.  She got me a cup of ice chips and pulled my hair into a ponytail.  Later, they put themselves to bed (never happens-- we always tuck them in), and it was so touching to hear Kyle in his bedroom praying for me.  The next morning, the kitchen was a disaster because I started feeling really sick right after lunch the previous day and never cleaned up.  Sweet Kayla cleaned the entire kitchen, even handwashing the big cooking dishes.  I was in awe of my children, and so grateful for them.
I was sick for several days, and recovering from the sickness for a good week.  I canceled piano lessons, volunteering at the school, and my cleaning job (I even missed two days of Seminary).  I must say it was very nice to take it easy and take care of me.  I was grateful to feel well enough to attend Kyle's 3rd grade class puppet show.  I was amazed at Kyle's improvement in speaking in public.  When it was his turn, he spoke loud and clear, which he has never done before.  Way to go Kyle!
I guess this picture below happened the day before I got sick.  Kayla earned a MAP test recognition award, and she was recognized at the High School Homecoming football game.  So we all got to go for free.  It was fun but long, so me, Aunt Diane, Kyle and Rachel left after half time, while Jason and Kayla enjoyed the whole game.
Just this last week was the kids' parent/teacher conferences, so the kids and teachers had Friday off school.  Aunt Diane took us to an indoor swimming pool and to a picnic at the park.

Jason is a Monopoly player.  I am not (too long of a game!).  Luckily for both of us, our kids are old enough to enjoy playing with him!  Kyle beat him at a game last week, and last night, Kayla beat him.  They're really starting to like this game. :)
Last night after dinner, Aunt Diane, me and the kids went for a walk. Aunt Diane was telling us about book she had checked out from the library about edible plants; she discovered that the small acorns covering her driveway, could be used to make food! So the kids collected leaves (not for food, for an art project) and acorns. When we got home, she and the kids sorted, washed, cracked, peeled, and lay the nutmeat out to dry.  In 12 days we will grind it up and make some yummy (?) food with it!

Very cute. I am glad you are feeling better. It sounds like what ever you had was a doosey. I am sure your amazing kids who took care of you so well learned everything from you.

Didn't realize you had been so sick. WAY TO GO KAYLA, KYLE, AND RACHEL for taking care of your mom. Way to go Kayla and Kyle for beating your dad at Monoply. That is a great accomplishment since he is so competitive. Great pictures.

I'm sorry to hear you were so sick. How sweet that your kids took such good care of you. Have you ever heard of Monopoly Deal? It is a card game version of Monopoly that is really fun and much shorter! You can buy it at walmart or target for just $5! We play it all the time at our house!
