This is Kayla after her first basketball practice a couple of weeks ago. This is her first extracurricular activity she's participated in that requires daily practice. She's doing well, and I look forward to supporting her at her games.
A few weeks ago I was cleaning on a Saturday and Jason noticed I use the same apron for cleaning as for cooking ( I always seem to get bleach on my clothes when I clean). He got right on-line and found me a new apron. He picked out the red one, but received an e-mail that it was out of stock and to pick a different one. So the black one arrived, which I loved! Then, a few days later, the red one arrived with a note saying they had received an unexpected shipment and they wanted us to have what we ordered. Customer service like that is rare these days, so I would encourage anyone looking for aprons to check out Main Street-Store . They are great!
Can you see what I found when I arrived at church at 5:40 in the morning for Seminary? A lovely skunk! While I was trying to figure out if I dared to try to walk into the building, it started walking toward my van. Luckily, the father of one of my students was brave enough to scare it away (don't try it). That was a close encounter I don't care to repeat!
Last Friday, Kyle and Kayla both got recognized for their MAP test scores. It was Kyle's first year, as they start taking the test in 3rd grade and receive scores the next year. He was nervous to walk on the field, but I convinced him to do it. To make it worse, he was the first student named and had to lead the whole group out across the field. He looked a little confused at times, but he found his way to the end zone.
We also got free entry to a football game. The game was alright-- you know, if you like football.
...but I really like watching the sunset and the sky.
Then, on Saturday we headed to St. Louis to attend the temple. This guy got us all up and in the car to leave at 4:30 a.m. Everyone but him slept most of the way; I don't know how he does it.
What a beautiful sight to see! I love the temple.
Rachel and Kyle enjoyed their wait, modeling new shirts that grandma sent. Kyle shirt is so true; he really does have a black belt in being awesome!
Notice the brace on his wrist? Yep, we've got another injury. I'll take him for x-rays on Friday and pray we don't have to have another cast join our family (they are a personality all on their own!).
My cutie pie-- and the only child who is currently happy to pose for a picture.
I love this guy; he's my hero.
And I can't review the first half of the month without a couple of pictures of these cute kiddos:

your aprons are too cute to clean in!
Congratulations to Kyle and Kayla on their scores. Good luck to Kayla in playing basketball and we love the pictures of going to the temple. Such a fun time except the getting up and in a vehicle at 4:30 a.m. :)
Sure wish we could go to Kayla's games with you! The aprons are great! How nice that they sent you two! Thanks for posting the pictures you do....I makes us seem like we were there for a split second in time. Love you you all!
