Girl's Camp:Year 2

Last week Kayla and I went to our 2nd year of girls camp together.

These are the girls from our branch that came, along with the flag that they are very proud of.  I was nervous about the flag because I have very little creativity and art skills, and the last president was amazing in that area.  But I didn't need to fear.  I just bought the supplies they told me to get, and they took care of the rest!  It turned out nice.

I didn't get to spend a ton of time with Kayla because she was an actual 2nd year girl, and I was asked to be the leader over the 1st years this year, so we were in different groups during the day.  However, I did sneak over to her group during canoeing so I could take a picture:

Apparently I've been missing the latest trend: the Cup Song.  But one of the girls was generous and patient enough to teach me.

Jason brought the kids to visit one day.  My least favorite part of camp is being homesick for these guys.

Rachel can't wait to go to camp in 4 years.

This was part of a relay, preparing for motherhood (she was making a peanut butter sandwich).  But she actually looked up and smiled!  So I had to post this one.

We did fun crafts.  The theme was "Oh the places you'll stand!" Combining the General Youth theme of "Stand ye in Holy Places" and Dr. Seuss.  All of these quotes were from his books.

Here's another of my smiling girl!

I survived.  Thanks to the tender mercies of the Lord, the temperatures were cooler than normal.  I am in a much healthier emotional state than last year, too.  So although I don't think I'll ever be one of those "I LOVE CAMP!!" ladies, I had a good time, and I think Kayla did too!

Loved the pictures from camp. Thought you were not going though....glad it was good though, I cannot remember one camp that I ever went to except a summer music camp. I think I missed some great experiences. So great we can "experience" things with you through your blog. Love and Hugs, Mom
