Kayla is 14!

Kayla had a birthday on Wednesday, and a party last night.  She is 14 years old, about to start her freshman year in High School (it's kind of a bummer being the youngest person in her grade), and is now old enough to go to the church dances that happen once a month.  She loves music, instagram, basketball, and friends.  She still doesn't like me to take her picture, but here are a few from the last few days that turned out.

She got a cinnmaon roll breakfast in bed, and wanted to open presents first thing.
I found this fun backdrop with disguises that I thought would be fun, but Rachel thought it was a lot more fun than Kayla did.

Wednesday morning she got to go horseback riding and is riding bareback for the what we thought was the first time (turns out she's done it once before).

Then we came home and met cousins for lunch and swimming!

A few friends came over last night (Kayla had volleyball camp on the night of her birthday, which really put a wrench in things-- we had her special dinner with cake and ice cream at 8:30 pm).

Kyle used some newly acquired scouting skills to start a fire and the kids all hung out in the backyard making s'mores and stuff.

Rachel was more excited than anybody for Kayla's friends to come over.

Happy Birthday Kayla!

Emma saw the corn in your backyard and wanted to know if you go in the field and if you eat it. she thought it was the best thing ever!
