I had the great chance to take a trip to Utah for Braden's wedding. My first nephew and I were very close I was 14 when he was born, and we did everything together. It was pretty important for me to be there but it would just have to be me, not my family, which made me sad. But the trip was great anyway. I flew into Las Vegas, where my parents picked me up and took me to their place in Mesquite. The next day, we traveled to Utah! The mountains were such a welcome sight, and I felt like home. We stopped by my old high school, which is almost unrecognizable it's grown so much.
My parents were generous enough to let me ride with them and stay in their hotel room with them. They welcomed me as their 3rd wheel.
The days before the wedding, I was able to visit a few of the people I love. We stopped at Jess and Trent's house and had a great visit with them.
The next morning, my good friend Christine picked me up from the hotel and took me to her house for a great visit.
Then my other friend, Jill picked me up from Christine's house, and we went to the Payson Utah temple open house. It was so beautiful!
Then my parents picked me up from Jill's house, and we went to the wedding dinner, where I got to see my other siblings!
I adore this bride and groom!
Which cousins are missing from this picture? Oh yeah, my kids :(
The next morning, we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast before heading to the temple.
What a privilege to be there with Stephanie and Braden!
I loved being in my beloved Mt. Timpanogos temple, where I received my endowment, was married, and served for 5 years afterward. I love this place!
After the sealing was the ring ceremony. I've never been to one separate from a sealing before, it was nice.
I took a whole bunch of pictures with Jen and Val's camera, so hopefully I'll get to see some of them soon ;)
The next day, we headed back to Mesquite, and stopped at Cove Fort for a tour.
Back in Mesquite, me and my mom went on a beautiful walk which convinced me that someday I need to move there. REALLY.
Although I missed my family a ton, I am so grateful I got to go on this trip! Oh, and the following week, Rachel had the privilege of being a flower girl at the open house. I got lots of other pictures, but with Jen and Val's camera (again!). I'll post them when I get them.
