Our girl turned 17 on Sunday! I thought it would be fun to try to re-create an old picture...
...not bad for a one-take. Neither of the others were willing to try more to get it just right. :) It's still cute though:
Fun for her, we were actually HOME on her birthday (we've traveled the last few years). Also, my parents are in town visiting!
Rachel did the decorating, yay!
After church, we had our usual menu for Kayla's birthday at our family dinner: Spagetti and French Bread. This time, my Dad made his famous fruit salad to go with it!
We were missing Courtney and of course we had to take a silly picture just for her.
She opened some presents! Mom, what were you reacting to?
Then, Kyle's gift came in:
He'd been planning this for a while. Kayla had no idea what was in it.
Grandma got this beautiful cake for her (and the sparkler candles did NOT work):
After dinner a few friends from church came over for cake and ice cream and for a game of beanboozled!
And our awesome home teacher stopped by!

It was so fun that we were able to be there! The pics are great, except the one with me with a stupid face! I have no idea what was happening at that moment...haha

I think it's funny that almost everybody has a slight southern drawl, except You Liss. I'm even hearing it from Jen now, lol! Ya'll need to get out of there and move closer to me!
So glad that Kayla was finally home for her birthday. love all the pics and videos. Kyle did a great job :)
