Our baby is 12! And yes, she's wearing her onsie in this picture. :) She loves to change into pajamas as soon as possible each evening. Rachel has always been passionate about her birthday, from the time she knew what they were. This year she wanted two things: a fitbit, and a manicure. So we planned for her to invite 4 friends to the beauty school nearby for manicures. She had one friend that wouldn't be going to that, so she invited her for her first non-babysitting sleepover on the night of her birthday!
She want this "purple zebra" cake we saw a long time ago and saved for her. We had pizza for dinner of course (that favorite has never changed), and then we watched "Middle school: the worst year of my life." It was actually better than I thought it would be. Had a good message.
The beauty school is only open later on Tuesdays, so we picked that day to invite her friends to ride the bus home with her after school. We had trifle, opened gifts, and headed 30 minutes to where the school is.
It was such a great deal! Some of the mom's were concerned and wanted to help pay, but the beauty school gave them a choice- they could pick mani and pedi, mani and hair-do, or pedi and hair-do, $5 each!
My girly girl!
4 students spent 1 1/2 hours on these girls. They seemed to have a great time. We left and headed over to the park for a snack and photo shoot:
I'm so grateful for Rachel and that she has such good friends! She's sad to be leaving them, but grateful for technology that will help them stay in touch!
