Rachel seems to be getting more comfortable on the court each game.
Even trying to shoot a few baskets.
This game she actually made her first basket at this game, but I didn't get a picture. In fact, I didn't see it...yep, I'm that cool. I didn't know she had been subbed in so I wasn't watching, I was talking to my friend. But, she made her first basket! She said she had been praying that she would make a basket. I had too, because before the game she said her stomach was flipping and flopping, but she wasn't nervous, she just wanted to play well. I'm happy that her prayers were answered in that way.
Kayla played on this same court on a different day:
Friday night was Senior night. It was supposed to be the last home game, but there's actually one more that was a scheduled make-up day. But Friday they played against the best team in the conference. They didn't win, but played really well, it was a fun one to watch. For senior night, parents make a poster for their athlete that gets hung in the hallway. This is the one I made:
The lady at the scrapbook store suggested I save them for her graduation party, which I think was brilliant, so for her basketball poster, I wanted it to look nice next to her volleyball poster. I'm not very crafty, so I'm pretty excited about how they turned out. (Thanks to the scrapbook store for cutting out my letters and for the other fun stuff).
Jen,Val and Haley came to support Kayla at Senior Night!
We walked her out, along with each senior basketball player (2 other girls and 4 boys) and 5 senior cheerleaders. They read a message from us to her over the loud speaker. Ours what short and simple. I thought it was supposed to be about basketball, but everyone else's was all about birth do now, pretty much, so I felt a little embarrassed but Kayla didn't mind. She doesn't like the gushy stuff.
Haley came straight from her practice; she's such a great fan.
I'm so grateful for them for always supporting Kayla through the years.
