Branson

Branson vacation, here we come!

Our first stop was in Mansfield, Missouri, at the Laura Ingalls Wilder house and museum. This is probably only interesting to those of you who have read the book, so I'll spare everyone else the pictures. For anyone else like me, who feels like the Ingalls from the Little House on the Prairie Books are my adopted ancestors, there's more pictures on our web album, or you can go to www.lauraingallswilderhome.com Here, I was able to get a picture of Rachel with Pa's fiddle before I learned picture taking wasn't allowed.

Me and Kayla enjoyed the house and museum the most! We read all the Little House books last year. Now that we're reading the Chronicles of Narnia, does anyone know of a C.S. Lewis museum?

Missouri this time of year is so beautiful. This picture doesn't come close to doing the scenary justice. Our whole trip was so great. If we weren't driving through small old towns with so much to see, we were driving along highways bordered with thick green trees and limestone "mountains." Quote from Kyle: "See mommy, Missouri does have mountains!"
One drawback--saturday night, the evening we arrived, there was a tornado warning in Branson; so we couldn't go swimming. The kids were bummed and Kayla was pretty scared (she's been afraid ever since our first tornado warning in Concordia). But, luckily, we weren't affected. Sadly, several towns were affected.

Looks like you had a fun trip. Parents are just great. I will have to have Barry read your blog to bring back some Fresno memories.
