Our friends invited us over for a hot dog roast and games last week. The highlight for our kids of course, were the pony rides. Kayla was first to ride, and she would have stayed on that pony all afternoon and evening if she could have. She LOVES horses. Kayla said, "Mom, do you know the last time I even got to TOUCH a horse? It was last Halloween when the guy dressed as Zorro let us sit on his..."
Luckily, Rachel was generous enough to let Kayla ride during her turn as well. (I heard Kayla rode again later after I'd left to attend women's conference). I had been telling the kids they would get to go on a pony ride. So we got there, and Rachel got to ride. She was confused and we had a few conversations the next few days about it until she finally understood. Rachel: "So when do we get to ride the pony." Me: "you got to ride the pony yesterday, remember?" Rachel: "That wasn't a pony, it was a horse!" Me: "A pony is a small horse. That's what I was talking about." Rachel: "That wasn't a pony, that was a small horse!" I'll spare you the rest of the circular conversation, but she finally got it after a while and some patiences on my part.
Kyle finally got his turn too. The horse belongs to his best buddy Conner. They are both on the horse in the picture below.
