It's cold outside but warm inside!

While Jason's parents were here, they were so kind and bought us this table and chairs for our deck from a garage sale as an early Christmas present. We've been wanting one for a long time. Just before the weather turned really cold last week, the kids all voted to eat dinner outside!

Sometimes Kayla lets me fix her hair (sometimes she doesn't). This hair-do I got from a hair blog. It's supposed to be a Cinderella bun for a Halloween costume but we did it just for school. Of course the other kids wanted pictures of them too.

On friday, Kayla was honored among the students who got in the proficient or advanced levels on the MAP tests at school. Our family was invited to the high school football game. Before the game, the announced all the names and then each student got to run into the end zone. The last picture you can tell her irritation that I wanted her to stop for a picture where other people might see! Someday I will learn. It was freezing outside and we were all bundled up, but we took a vote to either watch the football game or go home and watch a movie in our warm house. It was unanimous and we went home. There'll be plenty of years for football games.

The cousins were here on Sunday and they all had fun dressing up...

Another thanks to Harold and Carol for the big box of granny smith apples from their tree! They are perfect for drying! Yummy!

Kyle LOVES Halloween. He always has, which is funny because Jason and I do not. He and Rachel spent a good chunk of time drawing Halloween pictures for the wall. Kyle: "I'm going to be an artist when I grow up!" Rachel: "Well you have to be a missionary first, THEN a grown up; if you want to be together forever you know."

I am getting excited for Halloween too. I am not sure why. I never dress up. I just love kids costumes. I love Kayla's hair. I need some help in that area. Fixing girls hair doesn't come very easy to me plus Vallie hates me to even comb it:) Congratulations Kayla on the MAP test
