What started out as a bad morning for Rachel, (everybody hates me! It's not fair, everyone gets to go to school except me! I'm bored!) culminated with the dreadful situation that her training wheels were breaking and making too much noise. I gently suggested that we could take them off. We tried this last week and it didn't go too well, but this morning was a great sucess! Here is Rachel before even trying:
Phase 1: Learning to balance. It's hard to hear because it is such a windy day, but you can hear her whooping it up with excitement if you listen closely!
...and within 30 minutes she was riding!
and even starting by herself and turning around...
Pretty soon I had to get on my bike instead of run along beside her. Then we went around the small block, then the big block. It turned out to be a great morning for Rachel. I'm so excited for her!
P.S. I wasn't joking about how the morning started. This usually sweet-as-can-be girl has been on an emotional roller-coaster the last few days. She's up and down and least 10 times today already! What's going on?
