Jason's Priesthood Advancement

My birthday ended with a wonderful event.  Jason was ordained by his father to the office of High Priest in the Melchizedek Priesthood.
Jason's Dad, who is also a High Priest, traveled from Colorado so that he could be part of this.  We really appreciate the sacrifices he made to be here.
Backing up to last Sunday, Jason was released from his duties as the 1st counselor in the Branch Presidency!  I don't mean to sound too excited but I am!!  He has served faithfully with 3 different branch presidents and given much time and effort into this service.  He will now get to sit by us in Sacrament Meeting and will get to come home with us after church, and be home with us on Wednesdays!
He did receive two new callings in the branch, however they are not near as time consuming.  He will serve ast the Branch Mission Leader (working with and coordinating missionary efforts), and also as the first assistant to the High Priest Group Leader.

It was pretty cool because, as it worked out, all three branch presidents that he served with were there to particpate in his ordination.

Proud family members (I'm behind the camera of course).

That is tremendous! So glad his dad could be there. Although I think being both of those callings are going to be EXTREMELY busy.

Welcome to the old farts group. I am sure that your dad wouldn't have missed it for the world. There isn't much that would make a dad prouder than to have a priesthood holder son like you. I can't think of a more deserving person for a priesthood advancement. Keep those missionaries sharp and on their toes. You never know when you might run into a minister that thinks Brigham Young and a white buffalo are in the Book of Mormon.
