Believe it: I have a 12 year old

...and she's beautiful, and smart, and funny.and almost as tall as me.
She began the weekend-long birthday celebration with having cousins sleep over, french toast for breakfast, peanut-buter-cookie-making, swimming, and of course, a spagetti dinner.

The next morning (her real birthday), she woke up to a cinnamon roll breakfast in bed, and an exciting day at church.  The young women came into primary and "kidnapped" her.  She thought is was great.  She loves the Young Women Program already and is excited to be a part of it and to work on Personal Progress.

Her current interest include: Jewelry, fixing her own hair (her gift from one set of grandparents was a kit with everything she needs to do her hair in her room), reading, swimming, giving Rachel all of her Barbies (then spending hours in Rachel's room playing them with her), MarioKart, and various other wonderful endeavors.  I love you, Kayla!

In other news:  since I had the camera at church to take a picture of Kayla going in to YW, I snapped a picture of Rachel all dressed up for Pioneer Day

..and it's been so crazy hot here, we thought for sure we could fry an egg on the sidewalk.  But, after two hours it only had a hardesh film on the top.  Oh well, I guess that's a good thing.
