Mother's Day Weekend Trip

For Jason's Mother's Day gift to me, and mine to my Mom (and my Dad's Father's Day), I got to go spend 3 days with them in Utah this past weekend!  Haley had been saving up to make a trip, so she came along.

Our first stop was to Jess at work.  You can barely see her in this picture right above my mom's shoulder.

We had breakfast in the cafeteria here, and got a tour of the building.  It looks like a great place to work!

After breakfast, we dropped Haley off at her BFF's house and my parents were kind enough to drive around and let me take pictures of the houes we've lived in.  This is our first Highland house.  We lived here from 1979-1981.

We lived in this house in American Fork from 1981- 1985.   Somewhere along the line, the carport got closed in.

This is the house I lived in the longest, even through my first year of marriage!  I lived here from 1985-1998 (my parents sold it in 1999).

Then we moved into this condominium on the bottom level.  We lived here from Oct 1998 to June 2003.  Kayla and Kyle were born here.  It was neat to walk up the sidewalk and see that parents still take their little ones out to play on the playground and socialize!  It brought back lots of memories.

This is the house we built in Riverton, and where Rachel was born.  We lived here from Sept. 2004- July 2006 (We lived in the loft adjacent to it while it was being built).  Even though it was only 7 years ago, it has been remodeled and looks a lot different.

That afternoon,  I had the privilege of spending a few hours with my dear friend Jill.  We met at that aforementioned playground when our first baby girls were born 2 weeks apart.  I'm so glad we have kept in touch.

The next morning, we made a trip to my beloved Mt. Timpanogos Temple.  I love this place.  It's where I received my endowments, where Jason and I were married, and where we served in the temple for 7 years.  It was neat to back-- everything was so BIG compared to our smallish Kansas City Temple!

Of course, I couldn't figure out the timer on the camera, so we had to take 2 pictures :)

Then we went to get Haley and got back in time for Brinkley's soccer game!

It was so fun to watch the little ones play, and fun to see my big brother being such a good dad.  This was at the end of the game after a pep talk.

A little later that evening, Scot, Becky, Jacob and Alexis, as well as Jess and Trent came over and we all had a family dinner.  I've really missed those.  It was so nice to see everyone and catch up, feeling that not so much time has passed.

Close to my parent's home in Cedar Hills, there are walking trails and parks.  We went to one of them to play volleyball.  I decided to try and play.  Of course, I wasn't very good, but it was a lot of fun.

Look at this beautiful young lady!

The next day, Sunday, I went to church with my parents.  Once again, everything seemed so BIG!  From the church building, to all of the people.  So different from our little branch in Missouri.
After church, we went to see Jess, Trent, and Nesta on the way up to the airport.

I talked everyone in to taking a walk down to the Jordan River, which was so beautiful.

Thanks everyone for your hospitality and generosity!  Hopefully we'll see you all next year!
