A Momentous Night!

The momentous occasion was Kyle's first ever basketball game.  And we're hoping he'll love it and want to keep playing.  It was really sweet a few nights okay when I heard Jason in giving Kyle some tips and training using magnets from all around the house.  Kyle was pretty nervous because he doesn't know a lot about the game as far as rules, calls, plays, etc.

I saw the boys as they came in.  I can see Kyle's a little nervous.  He later told me he kept telling his buddy, "I'm gonna die," until Conner said, "I'm gonna die if you say you're gonna die one more time!"

He didn't die.  I took this picture after a warm shot went over the hoop.  They thought it was pretty funny.

At first you could tell he was very unsure of himself.  Not wanting the ball to be passed to him.  Not quite sure where he was supposed to be, or what he was supposed to do.

He was sure about the running part though :)

But by the end, I could see progress already as he started catching passes and even trying a couple of shots.  And he was happy afterward!  And he wants to play again!  It was a good night and I'm so proud of Kyle for trying something new and uncomfortable for him.  That's my boy!
