Basketball season comes to an end.

I'm tired.  Having 2 kids in basketball with overlapping seasons has been exhausting but super fun!  Rachel participated in a flash mob at half-time during one of Kayla's games.  Yes, those two girls next to her are in her class.  She's a tall girl!
 Tall and cute!
My sister Jen brought her fancy cameral to one of Kayla's games and got some great pictures.  Here's a few:

During one game recently, there was a girl who was just in Kayla's face (doing her job--trying to keep her from shooting).  I felt this mother bear come out in me.  I wanted to just go and push her away from my "little girl," just let her make the shot!   Hmm, I thought.  That's an intersting feeling.  I better watch that!  I've had plenty of opportunities to watch it, because often as soon as the other teams notice how good her shot is, they try to keep her from it.  She's getting pretty good.  It's so fun to watch.

That's her with the ball behind the black #15.
The last week of the season, the coach added her to the varsity team.  A great honor.  She didn't play much, but of course she was excited to wear the jersey.
Jason drove Diane to Arizona for her winter vacation.  The timing was great because his parents were there and he was able to go with them and his sister to the Gilbert Temple Open house.  Thanks for the pictures, Carol!  I can always count on you!  Thanks Carrie for taking care of him!

We got a huge storm the evening that Jason got back.  Kyle made this awesome tunnel  from plowed snow.
How to make an award-winning Valentine box:  the afternoon before the party, enlist the help of your favorite 2-year-old, a.k.a biggest fan.  Cover a box in wrapping paper, plug in the glue-gun and find some craft supplies to glue on.
Don't forget your signature accent--teeth over the hole!  And you've got your monster box!  in 15 minutes flat!
I got to bring a game to Rachel's class party for Valentines.  It's always fun to watch my kids with their friends.

Kyle finished off his basketball season as well.  He had a good time, and we hope he'll give it another try next year.  Kayla was pretty hard on him, but I reminded her that her first year of basketball she sat the bench the whole season.  She doesn't remember that :)  He did good for his first season, and improved as the season went on.
Kyle is the one closest to the alleyway there, with the white jersey.  I didn't have the fancy camerawork for these ones...
 Going for a shot!

Yes, we bribed him/ gave him incentive to play basketball.  Kyle needs lots of motivation to try new things.  We were true to our word, and on Saturday, Jason took him to pick up his new gun.  Ask them for the details because all I know is they keep calling it a 22. :)
