Rachel's 3 days of birthday celebration!

It all started with her friend party on Saturday.  She was supposed to get a friend party last year, but I was too overwhelmed with baptism preparations and visitors so I talked her into waiting until this year.  She planned the party.  It started off with Just Dance (borrowed from the cousins, thank you!).  We had to pick and choose which songs would be appropriate for 9 year olds.  But they had fun!
 Then the cupcake creation contest.
While I took the girls downstairs to play games, Kayla and Haley cleaned up the mess, got out the snacks, and gave awards to each cupcake.  Lifesavers!  They were the best help.

Then we came back upstairs to see our cupcake awards and eat them!  Rachel got craziest cupcake!
 Then a photo shoot...
and opening gifts!  She's got good friends, and half of them are a few years older than her.  They're great.
As the party was coming to a close, a storm was blowing in.  It wasn't as bad as forcasted, but it still left a layer of ice, so church was canceled the next morning.  So of course, we invited the Day family over for a birthday dinner of pizza, breadsticks, and salad!

Monday morning, her actual birthday, she got sleep in (and her awesome big sis let her sleep with her, as you can see), because it was a snow day from school!  She got her cinnamon roll breakfast in bed.
Between everyone who got her gifts, she got everything on her wish list, and she was one happy camper!
Rachel and Kyle got a little balloon happy that day.  I found these pictures on the camera later (they hid the balloons from me for most of the day because they were afraid I would make them pop them, because they had water inside!).

What fun ideas for a great birthday party. Loved the water balloons but glad they were at your home :)
