Kayla's in my wedding dress!  Just for fun, though- don't worry.  A former seminary student of mine got married on Friday, and she wore my wedding dress.  While I had it out of the box, and before I paid to get it all preserved again, I thought Kayla should try it on and see what she thought.  She says she might like to wear it when she get married, so we'll see :)

Rachel's friend invited her to ride with her in the children's parade last week.  She was sooo excited.  She has wanted to be in the Fall Festival parade forever, and she finally got her chance.  Since she's not an experienced horsewoman, Kayla agreed to walk with her, which was so nice because the horse got pretty antsy waiting in line and wanted to move around a lot.
Rachel is dressed as a native american, and her friend is dressed as a jockey.
Apparently there's prizes for parade entries, and Rachel won first place!  She received $20!
That's when it got dramatic.  She had been heartbroken that she couldn't go to the "street fair," the carnival that is set up on Main Street during the fall festival.  The passes were $22, which she didn't have, and I wasn't willing to pay.  So after receiving the prize, she knew instantly what she would spend it on- a pass to street fair!  The more she got thinking about it, though (and Jason and may have tried to persuade her), she realized that paying $22 for a few hours on 5 or 6 rides was not a wise way to spend her money.  She's had something in her amazon wishlist for a while, and she decided to spend the money on that instead.
Next year, however, she is determined to save her money, so she can go to street fair!  Crazy girl.  But I'm so grateful to her friend for thinking of her and offering her this great opportunity.
