Kyle graduated! He officially finished his schoolwork in December. He had a class schedule for the last semester actually, but when he found out he had enough credit to graduate, he approached his counselor about. She told him it was too late- he should have thought of that before the end of the last semester. I was kind of proud of him that he didn't give up. He personally wrote an email to the principal, who gave him permission to have an early completion.
Since he would be in boot camp for the ceremony, we canceled the order for his cap and gown, but when he went to get his diploma and yearbook, they gave him these. He graciously allowed me to take his picture:
Look at the academic honors he received! I had forgotten, since the last year of school he pretty much didn't care and didn't put in much effort at all. Before that though, he got straight A's, and it looks like it averaged out in his favor. :)
In the middle of boot camp, his High School was able to have a ceremony. We watched it on TV on July 11th. It was fun to hear him mentioned and honored:
