This past weekend we traveled to Colorado for Grandma Ruby's funeral. The kids were so excited because they would be flying in an airplane for the first time. It was an enjoyable and sad time. You may wonder why everyone looks so happy on a funeral trip. There were plenty of tears shed, but this was more of a celebration of a life well-lived and a legacy of service and love. Her 4 grandchildren spoke at the funeral. They all honored her well. It was a good time to be with family. The kids were each able to pick a few treasures to remember their great-grandma Ruby, see their cousins, and serve. Someone amazing that was here is now waiting on the other side. That is sad but gives us motivation to be worthy to see her again.
I took lots of pictures. If you'd like to see more, you can see them on our web album.

My kids would be thrilled to fly on an airplane too. It is just unfortunate it had to be for thier Great Grandma's funeral but I am sure it will be something they will remember forever. I am sure it was great to see so much family. Barry said Rachel looks so much like Jason's side of the family in those pictures. We are glad you returned home safe.
