Jason helped our neighbors with some computer stuff, and they insisted on giving him a bow case in return. It was actually pretty cool because he has a bow, but no case, so it's been hanging high in the garage really since we moved here. Kyle's been wanting to do more archery ever since scout camp, so the two of them bought a target and went out in the backyard to try it out.
It turns out it's not as easy as it looks using a bow. Kyle wasn't quite strong enough to pull the bow all the way! He has since been working on it, building strength, and now he can do it.
Halloween gets more and more low-key as the years go by, but this year we had a little more fun. I had to work at the library that day passing out candy, so Kayla was kind enough to take Rachel to meet her friend Holly at main street for trick-or-treating (the boys are Holly's brother and cousin).
In my attempt to join the world of teenagers, we invited the kids to ask one friend each over on Halloween night for pizza, soda, and "hanging out." We decided we are just not fun enough to call it a party :) The kids did seem to have fun. Kyle invited Austin over.
Kyle wowed everyone with his sparking grape in the microwave trick.
Rachel invited Holly and Kayla invited Drew. Kayla and Drew were awesome enough to take the girls trick-or-treating and to a Haunted Maze. It turned out to be a pretty fun evening for all.

Man I remember when Harold got his first bow and the boys trying to pull the string back. I was rolling on the floor watching the antics. So go Kyle
