Some people go on vacation for their anniversary...

...We cross things off our wish list!  Like a Newww Frooont  Doooooor!!!!
I've been wanting a new front door for a few years.  You can't see very well from this picture, but the "frosted glass" was peeling and we couldn't get to it, the front side was green and faded, and it let air in.
Kyle was our awesome helper.  Getting off the door was fairly easy, if you're smart like Jason.  Although doors are heavy!

 But these guys are tough

Putting in a new front door is tricky.  You have to make sure it's level and fits right.
We also got a new storm door to go with it.  I had painted our shutters and garage trim a few days earlier, and the storm door matches them.

Doorknob:

Nobody got a picture of my HOURS of painting!  Maybe it wasn't hours, but it was stressful.  It wasn't easy for me to get it looking nice, and if you come over, please don't look too close.  Painting a door is not like painting a wall, I discovered.  Here is our door and sidelight before the trim was re-attached.
Okay, so you can't see very well with the big tree in the way, but I'm really happy about it.  The green shutters, green door and green trim were all faded and looking dumpy.  I think it looks better now.
I'm still not sure if the storm door color choice was right.  Maybe we should have stuck with white.  But it's there so we're going to enjoy it ;)

Our marriage is an adult now (18 years!) so we can choose to celebrate however we want.  It was perfect.
