Rachel and I have been spending lots of time together because of her tongue therapy (which is now over BTW). One day at Walmart, the checkout lady commented on how much alike we look. Rachel has been told all of her life how she has her dad's genes, so this was a little troubling to her. That evening we went to watch Haley and some other Young women in our branch sing, so I asked Jen to take a picture of us. Keeping in mind the checkout lady didn't see Jason, I'm not sure if we look alike or not. It was kind of fun to put it on facebook and see everyone's opinions though. Most people said yes.
Many years ago, the first time I ever participated in the Interfaith Vacation Bible School, I made a forever friend in Norma Mooney, the minister from the Methodist church. She's in the gray sweater 2nd from the left. She actually moved out of the area soon after that VBS, but I have stayed in touch with her, and we get together every so often for lunch and a visit. Norma and all her Mormon friends! She's so great and I cherish our friendship. We got together last month and had a great visit.
Rachel is in 5th grade now of course, and that means the start of band! She decided to try it but I told her she had to choose flute or trumpet, since that what we have. She chose flute. She hasn't learned a whole lot yet, but she was practicing for a test the other day, and I decided to video tape it.
