Davis Reunion

One week after arriving in Colorado, we were in the mountains at a family reunion.

We went on hikes,

Hung out together a lot and ate good food.

Then, we had a little catastrophe.  SOMEONE'S mother let her use her sharp pocketknife without proper training.  And she cut her thumb open, big time.
Thankfully, we had freshly-minted RN in the family, and she brought her medical kit.  And she numbed and sewed up Rachel's thumb. (And saved us trip down the mountain to the ER).  Superstar.
 They were both troopers.
And we were all able to enjoy the zip lines over the mountain lake.

We went canoeing and kayaking in that cold mountain lake.
 It was fun
...until Crystal, Kayla, and Cody fell in that freezing cold water, and had to be rescued.  Cody was under the canoe, which was scary, but in the end everyone was okay and out of the water.  Little Cody was fine, but Crystal and Kayla suffered from shock and spent the afternoon warming back up.

By then, we were waiting for something to happen to Kyle.  Thankfully, it never came.  We piled in the truck and went on mountain tours looking for animals and beautiful views, and we found them.

It was a wonderful reunion.
