Kyle had his First Piano Lesson on Saturday! I'm glad he wanted to learn; the hardest part for me now is to help him practice. Needless to say, with Kayla and Kyle's piano, my own practicing, my student's lessons, and Kayla's flute practicing, our house is filled with music on a daily basis. I love it! Also, I added one other new student a few weeks ago for a total of 6 students. I think this might be my limit!
Sunday was our Primary Sacrament Meeting Program. Rachel's first time as officially being a member of the primary. (Last year she was in it but as a nursery child). It was nice and sweet; until Kayla tried to help Rachel be reverent and Rachel turned around and slugged Kayla in the arm! That's my kids!
Rachel lost her first baby tooth on Sunday! Yes, at 4 1/2 years old. The other front tooth is loose too. She's very proud. Jason called her over to check on her tooth, like he has pretty often lately, and it was gone! She had no idea. After some questioning, she remembered spitting out something in the grass that she thought was a nut. We looked but couldn't find it. Luckily, I helped her compose a note, dictated by her, that said, "Dear Tooth Fairy, I lost my tooth in the grass. Can you give me something anyway?"
Now for the Third. I've been noticing that Kyle seems to not be hearing as well, and turning music and t.v. up louder. So, I took him to the ENT to check his tubes. Yep, they were out, stuck in big gobs of wax. He already has fluid collecting behind his ears and a mild to moderate hearing loss. This is the second time this has happened, so the doctor suggested he get T-tubes this time. T-tubes won't come out until the doctor takes them out. He didn't put them in in the first place because there's a greater risk of making a permanant hole in the eardrum. But usually kids only need tubes for one year, and then their eustachian tube starts working. It's been a year and a half, and two surgeries, so that's why he suggested the T-tubes. So, on Monday the 23rd I will take him for his 3rd visit to the operating room, to "go under" and get the tubes put in. Thank goodness for a Health Saving Account that has had mostly only deposits this year!! We left the doctor's office just in time to get back to Concordia, pick up the kids we give rides to preschool, and get Rachel and Kyle to school, so thank you, Grandma and Grandpa Westwood! We stopped at McDonald's and used the Gift Dollars you gave them for lunch. It's not very often they get Happy Meals!
